A Friday night in Wiesbaden, and everyone was gathering at Schlachthof in Wiesbaden. Why? Because Skindred and Zebrahead were hitting town tonight. The both rock bands were currently touring together and rocking stages all over Europe. Along these guys took Sanguine to get the crowds warmed up.
The venue was filling up quickly. From teenagers to some well aged old school fans, the audience was mixed. But the teenagers definitely took over. Some of them were well tanked already, having a good time.
Soon after the doors opened, it was time for Sanguine to get on stage and rock the house. Sanguine is a four-piece female fronted alternative metal/rock band formed in Exeter in the UK. They have released one EP/single/DVD “Live Consume Drive” (2008), one self-titled album “Sanguine” (2012) and one professional studio album “Black Sheep” (2016).
The female fronted rock band took over the stage. They moved around a lot and performed their music and got the audience to move along. Although not many in the audience knew Sanguine before, they all loved it right away.
Sanguine performed in dim light for about thirty minutes. After many thanks their show was over and it was time for Zebrahead to take over.
Zebrahead is an American rock band from Orange County, California, United States. Formed in 1996, the band has released twelve studio albums to date. As usual the guys had a bar set up on stage. And their stage hands were dressed up. This time as beer bottled. The second the band entered the stage, the audience went insane. Drinking and cheering was the majority of what the audience did. Of course they sang along and danced along. But the drinking sure was in the foreground.
Zebrahead rocked through old and new songs, taking over the huge stage, setting the audience on fire, causing them to go insane. From everyone sitting down, to circle pits and a crowd surfing challenge between two fans and a general one between venues on this tour where Wiesbaden held a record with 108 crowd surfers.
Zebrahead kept everyone entertained throughout the entire show. The audience loved it. For one song, the singer Ali came down into the audience and set down on their hands. The Californians played for about one hour. Throughout the last songs, one of the stage hands was traveling a boat across the audience’s hands. It was an amazing show and that had only been the beginning.
It was time for the headliner of the night. The stage and audience was getting ready for Skindred. Skindred is a metal band formed in Newport, South Wales in 1998. Skindred’s musical style mixes heavy metal, alternative rock and reggae. The band also integrate elements of hardcore punk, dancehall, jungle, ska, hip hop, drum and bass, dubstep and various other influences into their music.
Skindred are well known for their energetic and involving live performances, and have won several awards including “Best Live Band” at the 2011 UK Metal Hammer ‘Golden Gods’ awards and the “Devotion Award” at the 2011 Kerrang! Awards.
The band had quite an energetic intro before they came on stage. And then they entered with a big bang. The audience went crazy instantly as Skindred began playing their metal tunes.
The band was bringing along so much energy and positive vibes, everyone could feel the spirit coming from the guys. Skindred got the audience to jump along and mosh instantly.
Skindred played songs off all their albums including their hits. It was brilliant to see how the music of Skindred infected the audience.
The stage had been cleared by now and just seemed huge. But the band took it over. The musicians moved around a whole lot. And so did the fans. This show was intense and everyone loved it. It was an amazing night with three amazing bands. It was well spent time and we all hope to see these three again soon.
