Phonothek is a Dark Ambient duo from Georgia. They released an album called “Lost in Fog” recently.

Recommended as a companion for sleepless nights, says the information about it. Yes, that seems one option, but the album is more than that. It is an album that listens easily, partly because of the cinematic feel over it. The whole can tell many stories, one for each listening again. It’s an open story that can be filled in by the listener as the moods this duo embraces are often up for a wide interpretation. Your own state of mind is just as an important factor in a listening experience of this album as the music itself.
One thing is to be ascertain; the atmosphere is never that dark that you feel hopeless. It has beautiful moments in which you can come in touch with your own spirit, your inner self and you don’t have to be fearful if you don’t want to.

When the album ends, with the title track, you may be still a little unaware of what you experienced. An ambiance that is this open, so free for the listener is a blessing as it will make that you keep being entertained each time you listen to it as if it is the first time you heard it. Phonothek gives more at once, more than one would ever expect.
