[schema type=”review” name=”Wildheart – Wildheart” description=”Self release” author=”Sabine van Gameren” pubdate=”2016-05-21″ ]Wildheart is a Belgian band that founded in 2014. The band makes Sleaze/Hardrock and is currently releasing the album “Wildheart”.
Though the band is from Belgian you could hear so some Scandinavian influences. Think Crashdiet, and Michael Monroe, late Hanoi Rocks… In the info it are more the American bands mentioned though. The melodics are into it fully and with perhaps a lighter voice, the band sets down something far enough apart from whatever influence one could name. Important, for there is plenty copies around already and bringing something of themselves into it makes that they are one you want to keep listening.
Here and there you could notice the band self is young, some parts of the compositions they made could have had some extra thought, maybe needed some more time to grow and evolve as the placement of all parts is not always giving the band it’s best moments to shine, they can get more out of what have, but there is time for them to grow in that.
What I liked most in the album is the track “First Glance” as it is calm and gives you the opportunity to listen to the qualities of the band in a bit of a spotlight as the band mainly keeps their songs on a flat surface where no one claims all spotlight, but right in this genre it could be great to have some switching spotlight to enjoy ones individual contributions come out strong as a benefit for the whole.
Overall we can say that Wildheart will find their way. The gave a good album to their fans, and it is a good base to build upon.
