[schema type=”review” name=”Aiming for Enrike – Segway Nation” description=”Label: Name Music” author=”Sabine van Gameren” pubdate=”2016-05-06″ ]Aiming for Enrike is a Norwegian duo that makes an interesting mix of Jazz with Rock all what comes up. Their album “Segway Nation” is out now.
Drummer Tobias is not a stranger, did we fell for his talents when we heard him with Leprous, Shining and Ihsahn for example, we did not really doubt about listening this album. What all them bands have in common is a certain complexion and with Aiming for Enrike that is certainly the case as well. It comes as a friendly sound, easy to hear, but less easy to fully hear. It is full and requires you to listen with care and several time to get the most out of it, but that surely won’t be a punishment. Enjoyable tunes that sometimes lead to hysteria and chaos, but always return to an ordered base. With the use of effect the band knows how to create an interesting sound that is quite rich. You would not always guess that the duo is putting all of that there together and these electronic sounds are giving it a modern twist.
“Segway Nation” is an album that surprises. A sound that is not too wildly spread, a refreshing way of bringing this Jazz and all what else the band puts in there. They do not limit themselves in any way and hopefully they find their way to a wide audience as this is certainly a very interesting act.
