The German hard rock band Eisbrecher was back on the road again.
During this tour, the band will hit six cities to celebrate reaching gold with their 2012 album “Die Hölle Muss Warten”. Everyone that will visit one of the shows, will receive a “golden ticket” with an exclusive single. As support, Eisbrecher was taking One I Cinema and Unzucht along. And tonight, the Germans hit Frankfurt. This time they played at Jahrhunderthalle, a quite big concert hall.
The venue was filled with fans and families. Most of them wearing black, some wearing band shirts, but all of them eager to see the show. After the two opening bands warmed up the audience, Eisbrecher took over. With a speaker’s desk, a cigar and in a suit, the singer came up on stage, throwing “Eisbrecher Taler” into the audience, looking like Dollar bills. Then they rocked it away. The audience was instantly blown away. Showing it by singing along and cheering out loud. The band appreciated their fans and talked to them between the songs.
The stage set up did not only include a platform for the drummer, as well as guitar and bass player in the back of the stage. But also amazing lights. The singer changed his outfit a couple times during the show. First the suit and tie, then a military look with hat, and towards the end, he jumped into a snow suit. An assistant helped him getting in and out of the jackets, brought hats, took accessories and such. And the singer made fun of that fact. Which made the audience laugh and let audience and fans get closer.
For the song “Amok” each band member had a drum in front of him which he was banging on. Supported by the clapping and stomping of the audience, the beat could be felt everywhere in the venue. For the song “Ohne Dich” everyone in the audience got up their lighters. Nice and old school. Only a few used their phones. Swaying along to the melodies, singing even louder.
When Eisbrecher thanked the audience for selling gold on their album “Die Hölle Muss Warten”, gold confetti was blasting into the audience. And the band performed a few songs off that album. As it was closer to the end of the show, the band was back in snow outfits. Ready to perform “Eiszeit”. And all the sudden it began to snow on stage. One of the last songs of the night was “This Is Deutsch”. During that song, some crew members were walking around on stage, holding up signs with common German phrases of today. The audience was going insane.
Eisbrecher put a lot of effort into their show. Thinking through every little bit and using quite some effect. The heavy music was combined with jokes and laughter. And a lot of gratefulness and thanks. Even though it was a very big venue, the show felt familiar. Audience and band seemed so close. It was an amazing night and a brilliant show. Make sure to check out Eisbrecher when they hit your town or area. It is worth the while and you will not be bored even a minute.
