Ghost is a Swedish heavy metal band that was formed in Linköping in 2008. In 2010, they released a 3-track demo followed by a 7″ vinyl titled “Elizabeth”, and later their debut full-length album “Opus Eponymous”. The Grammy-nominated album was widely praised and increased their popularity significantly.

Their second album and major label debut “Infestissumam” was released in 2013, debuted at number one in Sweden, and won the Grammy Award for Best Hard Rock/Metal Album.

The band released their third studio album, “Meliora” with the lead single “Cirice”. The Swedish metal band had just received a Grammy for “Best Metal Performance” for this very song. And today, the Grammy-winning occult rockers hit Frankfurt to show what they got.

The Batschkapp was sold out and filled to the last spot. The stage was all set up for the guys when the midnight mess began. Melodies like you only know them from church filled the air and caused goose bumps on quite some fans’ skin. You could smell the incense sticks. After almost twenty minutes of setting the right atmosphere, the band entered the stage. Four devil-masked guys on bass, guitar and drums and the occult priest with a skeleton face.

As the Swedish band began their show, the audience was blown away instantly. Most of the people in the audience had been long time fans, and faithful follower of Ghost. The cheering was intense, so was the singing along and the motion within the masses. Everyone sang along to the songs, raised their hands to the melodies and performance. The audience could feel the music and celebrated it along with the band.

The singer showed appreciation after each song, thanking the audience and sharing stories with them. Despite the masquerade and the show, the band seemed humble and close to the fans. A fact that the audience honored and loved about their favorite band. Ghost played songs off all their albums, including their Grammy winning single, “Cirice”.

The show lasted for almost two hours and left behind quite some happy fans, soaked in sweat, having a brilliant Ghost story to tell their friends.
