The British formation Exile Parade started back in 2006. Their aim is Britrock and says to be inspired by Oasis. For their album “Hit The Zoo” they were actually working with Owen Morris (Oasis producer). It’s out now.
“Hit The Zoo” has a strong body, quite faster than you might have expected after reading their intro. The band let the guitars drive the music and the vocals may seem a bit dramatic, when words are repeated just once or twice too often . As if they don’t believe the listener would get their point before that. First song that really stands out on the album is the track “Mach Schau”, it has some catchiness that is a little different than what you heard before, a step away from the standard they have set for themselves. Unfortunately the track “If Im Not Famous” they sort of fall back into a more cheesy theme and this sets the contrast within the album. The album leaves you with a sweet taste after all as the closing track “Shadows” comes with some experimental parts and electronics that you did not see coming.
“Hit The Zoo” is a varied album, showing the bands highs and lows, but show a band that has the potential to be a very interesting live sensation.
