Fastway – Eat Dog Eat

Releasedate: 11-11-2011; Label: Steamhammer / SPV
By: Milla Smile

“Fastway” is a not-so-popular veteran of rock-scene. Formed in the early 80’s band released several full-length albums during decade then kept silence till present days. In 2011 the band came back with changed line-up (including Fast Eddie Clarke (“Motörhead”) on guitar, Toby Jepson (“Little Angels”) as bass player and singer plus Matt Eldrige on drums) and released the first album in twenty years.

Ten tracks would be the good examples for everyone who interested what classy rock music supposed to be. For experienced rocking souls those tracks consider the line “nothing’s new but what the classic rock could be else”.

The opening track “Deliver me” is a hard and loud one. The music is running wild through the length of time. It seems the sound of “Eat dog eat” got the same tempo the whole album long. But it doesn’t make tracks much similar; every piece has its own charm. “Dead and gone” is the pretty sweet acoustic ballad that got the more powerful sound in the end. The track named “Sick as dog” is another hard part with excellent vocal on refrain. So, “Eat dog eat” is worth to be named “polished classic rock album”.
