The Physicists is a Finnish band that comes with the description Industrial/science/death/boogie Metal. In the past the band came with two EP’s and recently released their debut full length album called “Observation”.
As diverse as the band’s description may be the music comes in exactly this type of diversity. Some Mortiis can be found, that rawness the metal in there but in some moments there are some clean vocals that remind a bit to Peter Spilles (Project Pitchfork), yet these are there only sporadically as the majority of the vocals tend to a more nasty, screaming type of noise. This combined with a hyperactive electronic tune that makes it catchy as it is and the heaviness of a strong bass that make the sound thick as it is. Guitars are driving it all up to speed and when concluding the brewage that forms their sound, you can imagine the name of the band makes sense.
The album has its diversity in songs as well. Some songs are quite aggressive and others are on a lower tempo, having larger instrumental parts to enjoy. Maybe this does not always makes it easy to pick up at first but the drama that comes with it makes it interesting. So “Observation” is quite giving you the way to listen it as the title says, observe and then take your conclusion, needs some time but it is all worth it.
