Releasedate: 29-04-2011; Label: Hopeless / Soulfood

Silverstein is a Canadian post-hardcore band from Burlington, Ontario, formed in 2000. Their band name is a reference to the famous children’s author Shel Silverstein, whom the band had admired and read the stories of as children. They have released a total of four studio albums, three EP’s, a compilation album and a live DVD/CD. Their lineup, which has remained unchanged since the band signed to Victory Records, consists of lead vocalist and guitarist Shane Told, guitarists Neil Boshart and Josh Bradford, bass guitarist and backing vocalist Billy Hamilton, and drummer Paul Koehler. This creative and busy decade has seen them perform over 1,200 live shows while making countless friends as they’ve sold over 1,000,000 albums.

Now Silverstein have released their fifth studio album called “Rescue”. A twelve track release with five additional ones – acoustic and demo if you get the physical CD. I must say one thing up front: In my opinion this is the best Silverstein album they have released so far. Powerful and energetic it comes right at you and infects you with the same energy and positive vibes it spreads. The melodies are very catchy. The interesting and amazing lyrics are great to sing along to and definitely touch you. This sounds like “Rescue” would be some slow album, but it is not. Fast and ass kicking it definitely makes you move along big time. I am speechless and have to listen to it again. “Rescue” is a simply amazing album by Silverstein. Go get it now!
