In Arkadia is a French Metal band. They make Melodic Death Metal and have been around since 2005. This year they released their third full length album called: “Wasteland Chronicles”.
The band’s weakest link is probably that they want to please everyone. A lot of different styles have been used as if that would guarantee them with a wider audience. The outcome of this all is that sometimes their music sounds insecure, as if they are not sure where to fit in. Experimenting can be cool, but in this release it comes more as messy instead of it bringing something extra. Also, the focus is not to be found anywhere, the whole is not consistent. At some points they come strong with vocals, but straight after that you may wonder what the hell they are doing there. As in an attempt to raise the fame they bring in some guest appearances while the actual extra value added is much to doubt.
Missed shot, an attempt to create a commercial sound, as the names mentioned on the infosheet say Childeren of Bodom, Arch Enemy and Dark Tranquility, but forgetting these bands came from somewhere. A step this band desperately tries to skip. It ain’t working, not this time, with this album.
