Releasedate: 16-03-2010; Label: Victory
By: Nina Mende

Streetlight Manifesto is an American ska band from East Brunswick, New Jersey under the creative leadership of Tomas Kalnoky. They released their first album, Everything Goes Numb, which was distributed by Victory Records, on August 26, 2003. The band headlined and sold out their first concert at Rutgers University in New Brunswick, New Jersey on December 9, 2003. Several of Streetlight Manifesto’s members were well known in the New Jersey third wave ska community for their roles in past ska punk bands from that area, primarily Kalnoky’s Catch 22 and fellow New Jersey band One Cool Guy. As of October 4, 2009, the lineup consists of Mike Brown on alto and baritone sax, Jim Conti on alto and tenor sax, songwriter Tomas Kalnoky on guitar and lead vocals, bass guitarist Peter McCullough, trumpet player Matt Stewart, and Chris Thatcher on drums. The band recently spent summer 2009 on Warped Tour. On February 12, 2010, the band was confirmed to be playing all Florida dates of the 2010 Vans Warped Tour, as well as the date in Atlanta, GA.

The new album „99 Songs of Revolution“ is a multi-album cover songs project by American ska bands Streetlight Manifesto, Bandits of the Acoustic Revolution, and two currently unknown bands related to Streetlight Manifesto. The first volume in the series of albums will be released on March 16, 2010 through Victory Records. Punk music combined with trumpets, saxophone and trombone, that us how Streetlight Manifesto rock through these eleven songs of Volume 1 of their project. Somehow these instruments add a folk and Irish touch to the fast punk music. The song “Hell” even sounds a little bit like Samba music. This album is an awesome mix and collection of songs, covered with an interesting sound. Can’t wait for the upcoming volumes!
