Mories is an artist we know from several projects. Aderlating, Cloak of Altering, De Magia Veterum are some of them and this time it is Gnaw Their Tongues that is ready for a new release.
Mories is surely a king in putting down a certain atmosphere with his sounds and he creeps us up regularly with his various projects but with this release the ambiance seems a little more mellow. It is less haunting and therefore perhaps a bit more accessible for people that are not listening this sort of music that often. Building bridges to the heavier material as it seems.
Don’t expect it to be all about flowers and beauty, there is still a lot of doom to be heard in there, children talking, making it instantly a little more to the heart. Its followed by manic sounds, you fall into a hypnotic world, drawing you into the sadness, an evil dream perhaps . Then when being further down this release the whole gets more and more like your feet are built in cements and you try to keep running from this evil dream. The annoyance of it holding on is a great factor here, it plays onto your masochist side. But when it is all over you feel like you could have some more.
A growing desire, but this release is simply a bit lighter than we thought it would be.
