Soilwork is a known name. The Swedish have got themselves a name in almost 20 years of existence. This year they have album number ten coming up, “The Ride Majestic” is out now.

The melodic band has always had that commercial taste on them. The songs being catchy and easy to sing along, but with its previous album they seem to take a baby step away from that. Not disbanding it, but having a bit difference from what they did before. At “The Ride Majestic” you could say they followed that path again. What you hear is still a typical Soilwork album, but with more diversity than ever. The strength, the fast songs, the catchiness are there. The playing with the vocals is there. But be surprised when in a song like “Death In General” the bring the speed quite a lot for a bit. Going deeper than before and give each other the space to shine just a little more than before. Then bringing it all back in. It is clear that after doing this for many years they have come to the conclusion that the diversity in these tempos are worth trying and the band benefits from this.

“The Ride Majestic” is tighter than ever. The band has an album full of melodic songs and dug deeper than ever before. It is an album that will be liked by long-time fans as much as new fans as they stay close to what they are and yet manage to bring something refreshing. A fine release!
