Herzparasit is a band from Germany making Gothic Rock mixed with Industrial. The duo fits themselves into the Neue Deutsche Härte direction. Their debut album “Fromme Lämmer” came out in 2011 and this year the band returns with a new album called “Gifttherapie”.
The band’s debut album had a couple points of critique from our side while listening it. Not much new under the sun was the judgement but also we mentioned the band’s catchiness and with a new album on the market we wondered how much have these guys changed during the years.
It’s true that the guys stuck with their simplistic approach of song structures, the catchiness is still there as well, but here and there we can find some refinements. The guitars are having a bit more interesting twists and on the vocal side there is chosen for some more balance which makes the whole come out better. The label mentioned the band getting praised enormously about their liveshows while their debut album had some critique to endure, which would made us think it would be interesting to release a live dvd instead so the visual aspect that is apparently a major part of the band’s success comes alive as well.
“Gifttherapie” is a release that shows some progress from the band, the have refined their sound without losing what they want to bring.
