The American band Less Than Jake is playing in The Netherlands, the three weeks open Bibelot in Dordrecht gives stage to this band.
When entering the venue it became clear that Less Than Jake was moved to another hall. On this Monday the main stage seem to be a size too large to fill, so the band got placed into the Power Stage. The advantage of that was that this place was nicely filled and an intimate atmosphere brings a better dimension to the show.
The Ska Punk of these guys is a party after all, so a cosy atmosphere brings people in the right mood. Less Than Jake is formed over 20 years ago and it is obvious that most of the fans are, however still a lot of youngsters, familiar with their complete discography. If it was for example a track like “The New Auld Lang Syne” which comes from their 2012 release “Greetings and Salutations from Less Than Jake” or “Liquor Store” coming from 1995 debut full length “Pezcore” the people in the audience seem to know them all.
Obviously the band has very dedicated fans and what comes to notice is that they are very aware of this. The clique they have with their audience is one of their strongest points. Also, in Less Than Jake you see a band that works together very well. As a team, there is no ego standing up over the others, they are all at the same team and that gives the impression this is exactly why the band is so comfortable on stage and make their shows a party.
So even though the Monday show had not filled the main stage yet, the band embraced everyone that came out and played a memorable show anyway.
