Taking Back Sunday is an American rock band from Amityville, Long Island, New York, formed in 1999. The current members are vocalist Adam Lazzara, guitarist and back-up vocalist Matthew Fazzi, guitarist Eddie Reyes, drummer Mark O’Connell, and bassist/backing vocals Matt Rubano. They have released four studio albums, with their most successful being 2006’s Louder Now which has sold over 600,000 copies and peaked at #2 on the United States’ Billboard 200, closely followed by Where You Want to Be which peaked at #3 in 2004.[2] TBS has also had twelve singles, one extended play, one live album and a compilation album. “MakeDamnSure” is their highest charting single to date, peaking at #8 on the Hot Modern Rock Tracks chart in 2006.

The band released their newest album “New Again”, on June 5, 2009.

The album starts out with an impressive bass line and continues rocking throughout the album. The booklet contains pictures of travelling but no lyrics. Doesn’t matter because they are easily to understand anyway. The songs vary between very fast riffs and slower melodies. I can picture this album being great at live shows. You can sing and jump along perfectly fine. But even if you’re just listening to the CD you will tap along to the rhythm. You can consider the album alternative rock. Unfortunately there’s only eleven songs on it so the pleasure of listening to this great music is over quite fast. The choruses are very catchy. I don’t really know how to describe this album to you. It is soft in a way, yet strong in another way. The lyrics are not too deep but won’t just go by you either. Taking Back Sunday’s new album is somewhere in between everything, and it is doing perfectly fine there. This album scratches by all rock bands that are out there, puzzling together its own style of music. The last songs on this album are faster and rockier, not really aggressive but quite close on the verge to it with some anger. A great album with lots of pure emotions.
