Skineater is a Swedish formation making Death Metal. The band had its early days in 2008, but in 2011 the band recorded the first parts of their debut album. Anno 2013 it is ready for release; “Dermal Harvest” is out now.
No time to waste, the must have thought as the album starts full energy right away. “He Was Murdered” is giving you a quick image of what to expect for the whole album. The guitars have some good melodic parts to add here and there, and that makes the album quite recognizable for the band, a face of its own while the music may not be something new under the sun. Little signatures are always much valuable and so it is good there is more to discover in for example the vocals by Jörgen Ström. Sometimes the drums are being a bit too over present though. Taking it too much away from the rest these could have been a bit more modest perhaps. Yet, “Dermal Harvest” is a pleasant release for the Death Metal fan. It surely will do good in the collection and gives plenty encouragement to go see the band on the road already by the immense energy that is within it.
