The young glamsters “Rust n’ Rage” from Finland released their debut something in the beginning of 2013.
After mention the bands such as “Mötley Crüe”, “Guns n’ Roses” and “Judas Priest” as inspiring things, there is nothing else to add. The west coast of Finland (where the band from) isn’t the west coast of USA. And there is no evidence of birth new “Hanoi Rocks”. But, hey, maybe the newbie brought something intriguing to the glitter shiny world. But on the first sight (“the best naked part” of woman and handwritten font on the cover) the innovations cannot be found. Go further. The instrumental intro reminds of worthy and catching music times. Good. Some ideas are pretty interesting but the band is not enough skillful to show the wide possibilities and power. What songs probably might be pointed. Firstly, “Locked n’ loaded” where the youth probably gone wild with hand-clapping and impressive riffs. Secondly, the “Judas Priest” imitation called “This time” (which for winners not losers, the lyrics pretty odd). Thirdly, the ballad “Where the angels go to die” with groovy guitars crying out. The last and longest track “Black rose” divides into two parts, the second is better. Perhaps, the band finally taught how to play and made spectacular song about woman (with eyes of steel) for sure.
Seriously, the new wave of Scandinavian sleaze rock provides not so many worthy bands and this one has nothing compare with. In any cases the band has loads of time to rehearse their tracks and make them spicy in the debauched way glam should be.
