Alexander McKenzie & The Underpaid are making singer/songwriter, Jazz, Blues music. Alexander McKenzie is actually called Lori. The album “Ambivalence” is out now.
Eleven tracks of this album are telling the story that needed to be told. Calm tracks lead you through the sea of thoughts in relaxed mode. For songs that are built with a singer/songwriter base the instrumentals are quite remarkable, bringing in a warm touch to it all, a bit soul which is a good thing because those are keeping the tracks interesting. Thevocals are giving the music a true compliment, it works together so well and gives it a bit of feel-good- atmosphere. Eleven tracks on this album guide you through diverse sides but at the end you are feeling really at the end. It should not have more than it is now. Seems like they have summarized their sound completely with this release.
“Ambivalence” is an album you really have to listen to, forget about putting it in the background it demands a little more attention and maybe it will not be love at first sight as the tracks grow while listening some more. Yet, it has gorgeous moments that make truly enjoy, one worth to try!
