Releasedate: 2012
By: Sabine van Gameren
The British Embrace The Tide creates Melodic Hardcore since 2009. The band has released their very first album this year. It is called: “Distances”.
This band is one of those that simply bring exactly what you expect from them. Reading their introduction, the genre you have some expectations in your mind and it all comes alive right at the first track. Up for the guys is the challenge to bring a surprise in it somehow. The band brings you through all the stereotypes and while the track list is almost ending you might still be searching for something unique. Probably not yet came to mind that people need something to set your band apart from the various others. Then maybe it is not much new under the sun, what the band has in their advance is that the quality of the material is quite well. The song structures work, technically the band is doing quite ok as well so there is plenty of hope for a new release in future. All you wish for is the next time you hear these tracks you recognize the band by it because of their own identity attached to that sound. It’s there, but “Distances” did not bring it out yet.
