Well, it’s been a while I reviewed German rock trio Nitrogods debut. Since then the band released three more albums and there time for the fifth. The forthcoming Valley of the Gods schedules to 25th of October.
According to my previous notes, nothing really changes. Booze and Rock N Roll. Fun fact, it would be huge beer ad campaign, but it’s only beer-o-holics confession. Seriously, I haven’t heard of beer as much for ages.
Step back to 48 minutes album divided to 14 tracks. The starter “Left Lane To Memphis” retrospectively reminded where story of Rock N Roll began. Not the best navigation, but you’d like navigator’s sound. The third part of new material suitable for Motörhead lovers. Tracks like “Rotten Sucker”, “Gimme Beer” and “Ridin’ Out” brought raw bass-line and crawling motif. In the middle of album placed “Last Beer Blues”, which explaining all classic definitions “feeling blue” and technically being blues. Moving to the geographic pins of rock, next step the desert and rockabilly “Valley Of The Gods”. It’s kinda anthem for Rock itself and general track for the whole album. The last mentioned track “Kings Of Nothing”. Actually, not typical for the band, that milder, deeper and even psychedelic. Dunno why, it reminded me “Boys from Nowhere” by Turbonegro. Maybe of its social connotation framed by fragile music.
As for me, Valley Of The Gods could be more salty, but quoting Nitrogods “All I got to offer// Is just a real good time”. That’s’ a fair deal.
