The band formed by one of the pioneers of American heavy metal most-talented guitarist Jack Starr in the mid 80s. After announcing of their quit in the late eighties the band like a phoenix came back in the millennium with the album named “Defiance”. “Land of The Dead” is the second piece of skills hailing the band in the second decade of millennium.
To be honest after hearing intro “welcome to land of the dead” I hesitated to step into it or just listen further. You know, it was worth of listening to power metal as it supposed to be. Spite of stereotypes every track has that restless and tight power of metal. With steel riffs, bellicose drums and calling to the battle field vocal for sure. The music as powerful as painted heroes on the cover art. You would agree it’s a flattering bonus in what the CD has been wrapped.
Back to the content. It’s no doubt some tracks could place to the line of power metal history. For example, “When Blood And Steel Collide” is almost 7 minutes of human’s brave and musicians’ skills. Or another heroic track “Sands Of Time” about sense of the life according guitars’ accords and arpeggios. In other words, “Land of the dead” is one of the best present for hairy headbangers.
