The latest album of the Swedish industial metal band Pain, “You Only Live Twice”, was released in June of this year. The band is now touring Europe and played in Jyväskylä on the 23th of September.
| The night started with the Finnish band Black Light Discipline. Their industrial kind of metal fits pretty well with the music of the headliner of the show. The band did bring their energy on stage, although it was pretty evident they had some hard time in involving the audience. Some of the people in the venue seemed just not enough ready to pay any attention to what was going on the stage, which of course affected the general interest towards the whole performance. Too bad, as the guys truly came up with a good set that in the end managed to grab the attention of those who stood around the stage. Their music definitely proved to be the good choice to warm up the audience and does deserve to be caught again in the future. There will surely be the chance to, as the band is soon releasing a new album so keep an eye on them! |
| When Pain entered the stage, the atmosphere had definitely changed in the venue already. While people were coming closer to the stage, you could really realize how packed at maximum Lutakko was. The kick off of the show was left to “Let Me Out”, one of the hits of Pain latest release, that definitely got the crowd into the right mood. The rest of the set was a successful blend of old and new songs, with a little surprise during the encore, when the band came on stage to perform a semi acoustic version of “Have a Drink on Me”. Although the composing process of the music is mainly left to the singer and guitarist of the band, Peter Tagtgren, the entertaining role during their live shows is well balanced and played by all of the members. They all seemed to have fun while playing and consistently showed their satisfaction with the audience reaction. Make sure to catch Pain during this leg of their tour as the band really knows how to deliver a hell of a show. |
