Teitur a singer-songwriter from Faroe Islands. He has gained quite some importance in the Danish music scene through his past releases, that in 2009 made him reach the nomination to the Danish Music Awards. He’s now realising his new album, “Let The Dog Drive Home”.
Teitur has what many others have: a good voice and an original songwriting. But all of us know that this is not enough to gain a proper deal of attention. Teitur seems to have got it and has put it into practice already from his previous releases. With “Let The Dog Drive Home” he avoids shaping the songs around one single feeling, but rather tries to give his music a series of ever-changing expressions. In so doing, the songs develop different feelings one another: dramatic atmospheres espouse the carelessness of the title track and so on. Yet, the gap between all the different emotions that the album spreads is never too big: normality often joins up extravagance and vice versa. Credits for that must be given to the songs arrangements that are cured at perfection keeping this gap well balanced. With this album Teitur has definitely made a step forward it’s worth giving a try to have proof of it.
