An interesting neo-classical formation, Les Fragments de la Nuit, crossed us. Formed in 2005 film music composers Michel Viller and Ombeline Chardess added three other musicians to their project and started out. Anno 2010 they come with an album via Equilibrium music. It is their second full length album.
Speaking about film music, Edward Scissor hands crossed my thoughts hearing this music. Three violins are often on the lead, but the piano makes it come together. Also, a cellist is taking part in this job. And although the (very gorgeous) artwork may leave you with the expectation that we have to do with dark depressive music, it often seems to bring hope. These French have made themselves master in building tensions in the music, starting it calm, but demanding a lot of your attention. Keep your head with it, because this is not music that disappears in the background. Twelve compositions, made with a passion and seem to be a complete work rather than a collection of different emotions, will find good place for those who are into bands like Apocalyptica for example. The band themselves chosen other references, which can be found on their website. Violin violence, packed with drama and emotions, just how we like it.
