Encoffination is an American Death metal band which formed in 2008. Their first full length album “Ritual Ascension Beyond Flesh” is out now.
This duo has been known from various other bands, one more obscure as the other. Inspired by the most horrible horror movies the band came to this release appearing at the Selfmade God label from Poland. It was the intention to keep it as a vinyl release but since the label came in the picture a cd release is made as well. This will surely spread the word about the band. The band keeps their grunts low, at some point a bit boring as there is not too much variation in them. The guitars don’t bring too much enlightment either. The sound of the album makes think of a cheap ass home studio as the sound seems quite distant and not really produced. Raw material as you can say. The doom influences are clearly here as well. It is all slow and hardly ever speeds up. Another lack of variation. Though, the album has a little something. Filth. For that factor only, it is worth to give it a try at least. If it will be a keeper is in debate, probably not.
