Supports: Soon; Venue: Schlachthof, Wiesbaden (Germany)
By: Nina Mende
Tonight we went to the Schlachthof in Wiesbaden to see Zeraphine. They played in the little side-venue of Schlachthof. Several fans were waiting outside already. Almost everybody wore black, several people wore band merchandise as well.
The first band was a German band called Soon. There were only three of them today because their bass player was home sick. Soon warmed up some of the audience but couldn’t get everybody to move along. Also was the singer hard to understand when he talked to the audience because he spoke a little too fast. The show was ok, the light was bad and the band seemed a little insecure on stage.
Up next was Zeraphine. Zeraphine is a German gothic rock band founded in 2000. They have six albums released. As the band came on the audience cheered out loud. The venue had filled up quite a lot. The stage was low and so was the ceiling. The singer Sven had to be careful to not hit his head when jumping. Everyone could sing along to the songs. The sound was brilliant and the light was much better as well. The band had a lot of fun and so did the audience. Sven talked a lot with the audience. If he hadn’t mentioned it you would not have realized that he was having a cold. The guys rocked on stage to their old and new songs. Throughout their set they also played three songs as an acoustic set. It was amazing to see them play acoustic. They definitely are some great musicians. Zeraphine played all their hits. It was a very familiar atmosphere in the venue not only because the band talked a lot with the audience. The Zeraphine fans had a blast, danced and sang along to literally every song. Zeraphine came back for an encore of three songs. It was an amazing night out with Zeraphine. Too bad it didn’t last longer. |
