Dark Order is a Thrash Metal band coming from Australia. They formed in 1992 and “Cold War Of The Condor” is their fourth album.
Through the years the band have had many lineup changes. Quite a large variation of drummers and guitarist crossed their path, but they somehow managed to find a lineup to create this album with. The band is rasping their idea of thrash from the old days, an old school approach. Obviously there is also some influences from heavy metal, after all they are still Australian. The production of this album is quite raw, not doing enough justice to the music. It appears to be quite messy here and there. Especially the vocal part could have been done much better, but also the guitars are not the strongest part of this album.
The band did give you quite some for your money. 14 songs, 86 minutes playing time. It is all surround the story of the Pinochet regime. Quite some to listen to from these guys and that makes up slightly for the fact that there were some higher expectations of them. Nevertheless, this album is not the next big thing, there is a base, but should have been worked out way more than is done now. A concept that’s brought to the market too early.
