Thieves and Villains are an American indie rock band from the Hudson Valley region of New York, formed in 2007, and signed to Victory Records. Now they released their second album called “South America”. However, the record was still being created under the same confines as many bands today; a spastic sinking ship of a country that has never been as stressed out, paranoid, or misled as it is right now… an America that is truly going “South.” The result of this is the album title that came to represent the dichotomy of one location being both the place you hate and love the most; the place you escape to, yet the place you despise.
With great rock music Thieves And Villains come back at you. Catchy tunes spread out on 13 tracks. Even though it might be considered as mainstream teen rock like Blink 182, Fall Out Boy and others Thieves And Villains and their “South Africa” album is so much more than that. With a great voice that is used awesomely soft Thieves And Villains get you hooked on their music. It gets you tapping along and relate to the lyrics. Also does the album get stuck in your head very easily. Thieves And Villains created a brilliant new album with “South Africa”, one that you should definitely check out.
