Pulled Apart By Horses is an English Indie Rock band formed in 2008. Although they have had a relatively short career, they’re gaining more and more positive responses also thanks to their live shows. “Pulled Apart By Horses” is their first full-length.
Basically, the word that suits the most to describe this album is “speeding”. Besides the fact that almost all the songs in it don’t even last three minutes and a half, also the inner songs’ structure is extremely speeding, so much so that at some point the album sounds more like a punk one. The overall genre is in fact pretty mixed as Tom Hudson’s voice is always pushed to screams, which sound typical of hardcore music. The final outcome is an album extremely brisk that always keeps its feeling that way. Every song goes on that direction and conveys a never-ending energy. If that wasn’t enough, if you glimpse at the songs’ titles, “I Punched A Lyon In The Throat” for example, then you surely realise there’s a bit of a funny kind of madness in there too. Pulled Apart By Horses seem an intriguing band right for their energy and craziness actually; I’m very curios to see how they manage to bring their energy on stage. If their live shows are as powerful as this album, then Pulled Apart By Horses are not to miss live!
