Demians is a French formation. The band is making progressive metal, quite alternative and has been around since 2008. In this year they also released their debut full length, but anno 2010 it is time for a new album called: “Mute”.
The formation Demians is not much of a crowded project, it all comes from the brains of one man: Nicolas Chapel. He has been responsible for all what had come from Demians so far. Even though this is a one man band, which often comes with shortcomings on certain parts of the music where strong points stand out big time to make up for it, this album seems to be quite balanced. Nicolas is blessed with a good voice and the knowledge of how to use it best for his music not letting the vocals overrule the rest of the music. He built tensions with his guitar and keeps the music interesting within the album. Tempo changes are working in his advance as well. “Mute” is pleasant to listen to, maybe not the most exciting album that is around in this progressive genre, but an album that will be much appreciated with the fans. All you want to hear in summer!
