The Finnish band Indica has been around since 2001. Recently they signed with Nuclear Blast and now their album “A Way Away” has been released.

While many people in Europe have not heard of the band before, they are not unknown for Tempelores. Before the band use to sing in Finnish. Their single “Scarlett” was a big success in Finland in 2004 and the band got a reputation for giving phenomenal live performances which brought the magic of their fairy sound alive. A little bit shocking it is to see the band changed their direction and have all English songs on their new album. “A Way Away” is for sure a beautiful album but for people who were used to their lovely Finnish songs it might be a bit bitter as it takes some more listening to grow into it and give this musical baby of them a change of adoption in your heart. But in the end, the ladies are still creating wonderful music with that dreamy atmosphere that we were used from them. When hearing the up tempo song “Straight and Arrow” which was the first single released from this album it turns out that Indica’s music actually works in English.

Indica is a band that has the potential to attract a lot of fans all over Europe. People who love pop, rock, indie but also fans of gothic/fairy music will find themselves happy with an Indica album. While listening to this album it makes the fans hungry for more, new songs, whether they will come in English and Finnish cause for people who have known the band before, these songs are familiar as they are rewritten versions of their old material. Indica will go for world domination and we are convinced they will succeed.
