Heaven Shall Burn brings forth their new CD “Invictus”. Which is the third part of the “Iconoclast” Story after previous released “Iconoclast” and their DVD “Bildersturm”. The five piece band brings you again amazing riffs clearly influenced by Scandinavian metal. Besides the normal CD there will be a limited edition. A box-set incl. a digipak that comes with a bonus-track: Therapy?’s “Nowhere”. To top it off there will be a bonus DVD in this digipack.
With this release the stories continue about unconventional heroes, idols and legends. The phenomenon continues. The band from Germany flirt with unknown territories but also stayed true to their old sound. They recorded their album again at Tue Madsen’s Antfarm Studio. As said they took some steps aside from the sound the have produced over the years. To create a more atmospheric intro and outro they worked together with Ólafur Arnalds (Islandic indie/electronic artist). Other songs where you can hear electronics are “Combat” and “The Lie You Bleed For”. Another remarkable variation on this CD is “Given in Death” which deals with mercy killing and what the church thinks of it. Recorded as an emotional duet with Sabine Weniger from Deadlock. “Return to Sanity” is maybe the most catchiest track on their CD. A song about one of the most violent battles of the second world war. Overall the band presents a very varied CD which keeps the listener interested throughout the CD, from beginning to end. They know how to sound raw and rough but know how to incorporate melodic metal as well.
