The Chemical Brothers – Further

Releasedate: 14-06-2010; Label: Freestyle Dust / Parlophone
By: Nina Mende

The Chemical Brothers are a British electronic music duo Tom Rowlands and Ed Simons (full names Thomas Owen Mostyn Rowlands and Edmund John Simons— occasionally referred to as Chemical Tom and Chemical Ed). Known for their live sets, they are pioneers of the big beat electronic dance genre which achieved mainstream popularity in the 1990s.

Pressing play in The Chemical Brother’s seventh studio album called “Further” you are being reminded of the Blue Man Group. The sound of tubes being hit is also included on The Chemical Brother’s first track. The music is all instrumental with only a few mechanically sounding spoken words throughout the album and perfect for the club. Professional electro music that does not need any words to be understood. The Chemical Brothers also added some extra sounds like for example horse noises on “Horse Power). Most of the songs are blending into each other very well. Whether you want to lay back and relax or have a good time out in the clubs, The Chemical Brothers brings the soundtrack for that with “Further”. With only eight tracks they still create a whole lot of atmosphere. Make sure to check out the new album “Further” by The Chemical Brothers.
