The American band Periphery is founded in 2004. The band got a lot of fame by working the social networks. Their latest release is self titled and out now.
Periphery has a quite modern approach. The band goes into comprehensive structures and intense songs. Vocal wise, mainly clean parts that track the attention. Some heavy grunts are included in this album as well but make less of an influence. With the well thought riffage the band creates some catchiness in their music that might attract a large audience. Some typical things that make the songs what they are is the 15 minutes lasting song “Racecar” which built up and goes on and on, making the length of the song relevant. Also the blast beat is something that really sets their powerful sound straight. The album might smack you straight in your face at the first time you hear it. It’s various and lengthy. Some experimenting here and there. Good quality. After listening the album a couple times the hype falls down a bit. These clean vocals are something you have to like, otherwise they may cause several endings before all songs have been played. But for its musical skills, it’s definitely worth a try!
