“Tommigun’s a Brussels based band that stands for a diverse breed of songs that includes vulnerable, heartbreakhangover tunes, ideal for the wee hours of the morning as well as explosive bursts of passion and anger that send shivers down your spine.”
That is what the band mentions themselves in their biography. Quite an adequate description, the band is able to go quite intense with their music. The band is not the most happiest, there is a sort of sad depressive atmosphere in their sound that does not match the nice summer sun that shines outside right now. Maybe releasing the album in spring would have made it easier to get into the right mood for what the band has to bring. Some female vocals are sporadically adding some extra body to the song, at moments when you are quite done with the sadness, there is the more clear vocals a bit more in the foreground in the mix, which really makes the album stronger at that moments.
The album is not special and does not bring something new, but it does have its positive sides in deepness. With the summer up to come, people probably feel more some up tempo music, which bring more romance in the house. Missed shot for Tommigun, mainly for its timing.
