Black Light Discipline – Aggressor

Releasedate: 22-04-2010; Label: Osasto-A
By: Sabine van Gameren

The Finnish band Black Light Discipline is not unknown for the Tempelores readers. The band released their debut at the end of 2008. The band got to play at various festivals including the after party of Tuska Festival and Metalorgy in 2009. Anno 2010 the digital times seem to win more and more terrain and less bands decide to release singles, but Black Light Discipline saw light in releasing a single, “Aggressor”, as a collector’s item for each addicted music collector.

The first song “Aggressor” is one that comes with a slight wink to the German industrial when it comes to the electronics. It flows easily, but doesn’t give any time to rest, full speed to major party experiences. The second song, “The Bitter End”, is one that is more catchy and sing-along. You can really give your heart in shouting it along.
Both of the songs are more electronic than what the band have shown us before in their debut album “Empire”. This single is speeding through time, realizing its ending faster than expected, leaving up only one conclusion which is that the hunger isn’t stilled yet. A second album lays in line of expectations and until then, “Aggressor” on repeat?
