The band Le Baron Vampire is coming from Switzerland makes some Sludge Metal. Their debut: “Baruch” is out now.
The first song on the album comes straight with deep intensity seeking their inspiration out of different corners. For it’s intensity the band knows to calm it all off a bit before going on with the heat, which is something the music might need to not overdemand attention of the listener. Halfway the album, a little catchy side comes peek around the corner, melodic parts that you accept easily. Each and every song seems to come with extended intro’s, smoothly sliding into the song, transitions are all come prepared, never as surprise. Biggest smile goes for the song “Hellsinki”. Who doesn’t like the city of metal, shouldn’t be bothered to listen to this sort of music anyway. Listening to the structure of this song immediately made me think of Black Sun Aeon with its doomish depressive music accompanied by melodic parts. Suits perfectly with Le Baron Vampire.
The band have remained accessibility, while they are able to go deep and noisy if they want to, but with some refreshing moments to keep it airy. An interesting debut album, lovers of the genre are advised to check this out.
