“Phantom”, the eagerly awaited second CD by (((S))), appears like a liberation of an entire scene that seems frozen in 30 years, spreading spasmodically attached depression and often enough, it just seems unauthentic. (((S))) started this project in 2007.
The album is very odd and psychedelic. It takes you a few listens to figure out this album and to make up your mind about it. On the first listen it seems a little monotone with the lyrics and the sound. But the more you listen the more you get hooked on it. Lyrics and sound are strange but somehow interesting. The music starts imagines in your mind that are close to Sin City and such, also this album “Phantoms” would be a more than fitting soundtrack to movies like that. Actually the songs are all very catchy as well. “Lonely Is The Lighthouse” for example is one of the songs that will definitely get stuck in your head. The album cover is mostly black with a black and white picture of (((S))) on it as well as the band and album name in white, each in a corner across from each other. “Phantom” definitely is a phantom, but one that doesn’t step away from your side once you listened to it.
