Dperd is an Italian dark wave formation by Carlo Disimone and Valeria Buono. These two have been working together for quite some years already. They were both members of a band called “Fear of the Storm”. That band already had a release in 1995.
Dperd had releases in all different sorts already, this album is the second album that they release via My Kingdom Music. Their first album “Regalerò Il Mio Tempo” dates back to 2008. Just as in their previous release there is a lot of keyboard that brings a somehow catchy melody, not as in pop chart catchy, but in a way that it sticks in mind and is very driving the sound. Furthermore there are vocals who take an important place in the music, while it is actually already worth to get this album for the instrumentals. These vocals are mainly by Valeria Buono, but also male vocals can be heard. The lyrics are in Italian, which makes it a bit harder to follow for people who want to understand them and do not speak the language, but listening to the warmth of the voice and how well it matches with the instruments gives plenty of satisfaction too.
This album is gorgeous to listen to, giving you depth and space to dream away, it’s atmospheric and moody leaving some opportunity to give your own interpretation to it as well. If there would be a million albums like this, I would still not get bored of it.
