The Spanish Death Metal formation Bloody Brotherhood is releasing their second full length album called “Don’t Break The Circle”.
The band is surely not making their fans get off easily, the guys have produced an album that ticks over an hour on the clock. The guys are inspired by some Old School Death and leave no second of that hour plus go to waste in proving some brutality. You can actually feel it going on and on, but the band should perhaps have considered being a bit more playful with it, the whole appears flat and does not have a defined start or end. Not building towards something, but like that train that never stops, when you jump on you are on and you come to that point that you rage past your destination.
Some more dynamic would have suited well here. The guys have a lot to give, but with a more selective eye they could perhaps have taken off some of it to avoid being too repetitive. The skills of the musicians is there, but in the compositions there is some more to win. To keep that birds eye view of the whole thing as well.
A release that is a bit too much for its own. Sometimes less is more even in metal, and this album shows you why.
