The band Amendfoil we saw a couple of times at Tuska. We even bothered to get rained away when they were opening the mainstage on the last day of the festival. So they were on our radar. Recently they decided to change their name to Palehørse and got signed with Indie Recordings. Things look fine for the guys so to say. They released their selftitled album earlier this month.
The guys are still having their
progressive touch, the first song of this release showing a bit of
that combined with a lot of catchiness. One that sticks in mind
easily. The album has more of where that came from, listen to the
song “Odious” which holds between the kind of metal that hits
the charts and that progressive side, a commercial success with
enough body to have the more advanced listener enjoy it as well.
If
you hear the intro of “Less Than A Ghost” you see that the band
has these skills there, composition wise they make smart choices and
the song gives you the impression that the band can bring an
energetic show live as well. Which we can only confirm from previous
experience.
So the Finnish guys have released a good first album. Palehørse is hitting a wide range of audience, targetting the once who like the music quite catchy as well as the ones who prefer comprehension.
