Dolor is a German Electro act started in 1998. “Tanz Der Schatten” is their latest album.
The sound that this band has is something between Rammstein and Tanzwut. Some medieval influences are there, but the electro makes it sound more aggressive. Sometimes the album appears a bit messy, going up and down rather than in a straight line but when you get over that there is an enormous amount of energy that brings the atmosphere into better perspective. Vocal wise you can find aggression next to more intriguing vocals that try to creep you out, but in the end there is still a lot of different expressions. You can go from one song to another and experience complete different things. Not much as a one side product, but this perhaps has to do with the fact that this was originally planned to be an EP instead of an album. What is very good to imagine after listening this album is that this band will do fantastic on festivals or on the bigger stages while bringing an immense show with them. It has a big dance ability and the songs has something catchy to pick up easily. Summer is coming, who knows where you’ll see them. The merch stand shouldn’t be skipped because besides the fact that it appears a messy album in some aspects it is one that you do want to have!
