Lifehouse is an American alternative band from Los Angeles. They came to prominence in 2001 with the hit single “Hanging by a Moment” from their major-label debut album, No Name Face. The single won a Billboard Music Award for Hot 100 Single of the Year, beating out Janet Jackson and Alicia Keys for the #1 Single of 2001. In 2002, they released their follow up album “Stanley Climbfall”. They have released three more albums. The latest is called “Smoke & Mirrors” and just got released.
This new Lifehouse album goes straight into your heart. “All In” is a very catchy and thriving song. “Nerve Damage” is slower in the verses , but the chorus and its beat are dragging you along for sure. “Had Enough” is an awesome song with a big sound, same with “Halfway Gone”. “It Is What It Is” is very deep and emotional. “From Where You Are” has great guitar riffs and a pure voice, a really touchy love song which is a little bit sad. “Smoke & Mirrors” sounds a little bit like a country song. “Falling In” starts with an acoustic guitar before the beat sets in. On “Wrecking Ball” you can find an outstanding drum sound. Throughout the end of the song you can hear clapping and cheering in the background. “Here Tomorrow Gone Today” sounds like a pop song with a beatbox. “By Your Side” is very touchy again. “In Your Skin” simply sounds different from the rest. “All That I’m Asking For” has repetitive lyrics, so this one gets stuck in your head very easily. “Crash And Burn” reminds a little bit of Placebo. “Everything” is totally soft and touchy. The vocals on “Near Life Experience” are almost only talked. The remix of “Halfway Gone” is very danceable. This Lifehouse album is awesome and gets stuck in your head in no time. Just the way we know it from Lifehouse.
