The Colossaal was filling up slowly but surely tonight. Soon it was very crowded in the venue, right in time for the first band: Bliss.

Bliss is a band from France founded in 2003. The trio played metal that reminded a lot of US metal bands. Their performance was very energetic and thriving. Everybody moved along, some in the moshpit and circle pit. Some in the audience seemed to know the band already and sang along. The singer also played guitar and had a strong voice. He varied between singing and shouting. The bass player jumped around a lot and the drummer worked his drums very powerful, you had sweat running down your face by only watching him. Bliss put up a great performance. A great warm up act that definitely warmed up the venue and the audience in it.

Up next was an Australian band called Mayfield. Another trio, this one was founded in 2004. Mayfield can be considered as new grunge. Their music is somewhere between Nirvana, Nickelback, Green Day and Foo Fighters. They also looked a lot like grunge. The singer’s voice reminded a lot of Kurt (Nirvana) and Chad (Nickelback) but also something fresh in his voice. These guys rocked the audience quite lot as well. You could also find some people singing along to the songs. For one song the singer of Emil Bulls joined the Australian trio on stage. All fans were screaming loudly as they saw Chris coming on stage. Mayfield performed some great 30 minutes.

Now it was time to go crazy: Emil Bulls was about to burn down the Colossaal. With “Here Comes The Fire” they came on stage, rocking everybody in an instant. There was a big circle pit going on and everybody was dancing and shouting along. The five Germans were blown away by that but kept on rocking even more throughout every single song. As much as the guys jumped around on stage, the audience was in motion. Whether on the spot or in the pit, everybody was moving along to the old and new songs. From metal to just very hard rock Emil Bulls just kept on heating up the air. Nobody stood still for a second. It was the guitar player Moik’s birthday, so the audience sang him a birthday song. Emil Bulls talked quite a lot to the audience, thanked the other two bands for joining and the audience for being so great. For one song Chris asked the audience to separate for a wall of death which ended it a huge circle pit as the song started and Chris gave the “go” for the start. The audience was mixed, but it was many teenagers in the audience as well. It was a very energetic and exhausting one hour. The audience was thrilled by the music and the performance, wanting more. So they shouted for Emil Bulls to come back on stage. And the boys returned for an encore. Rather, Chris returned first to perform “I Don’t Belong Here” where the audience sang along very loudly. A magical flair filled the venue. Throughout the middle of the song the band joined in to finish it. Then they played two more songs before saying good bye. Everybody was happy and exhausted because of this breathtaking performance of Emil Bulls.
