Rise Against is an American punk rock band from Chicago, Illinois, formed in 1999. The band’s current line-up comprises vocalist/rhythm guitarist Tim McIlrath, lead guitarist Zach Blair, bassist Joe Principe and drummer Brandon Barnes. Former members are guitarists Dan Wlekinski, Kevin White, Todd Mohney and Chris Chasse, and drummer Toni Tintari. Now Rise Against has released something special: A collection of their best songs, rearranged for an acoustic session. And this beauty is called “The Ghost Note Symphonies Vol 1”.
The album comes with ten songs. You will probably know each and every single song. But the rearrangement gives them a new and fresh touch. The otherwise loud music becomes calm and soothing. “The Violence” includes some strings which adds quite some depth to the sound. Some songs seem to be played with only an acoustic guitar because its sound is so much in the focus of the musical mix. Each of the ten songs has a soft spirit that will warm your heart and calm your mind. “The Ghost Note Symphonies Vol 1” rushes by quickly and you will catch yourself pressing play again.
Rise Against has a new album out. “The Ghost Note Symphonies Vol 1” is the name of this beauty. You have to check it out, I am sure you will love it.
