The Swedish formation Honeymoon Disease is doing Rock. The band released their album “Part Human, Mostly Beast” last year.
I don’t quite know about this band. From the start to the end I feel like this is one of those youngster bands you see at a local bandcontest. Usually ending up in the middle of the ranking. It’s not bad, but not yet a winner either. Originally level isn’t up too much. You simply heard it before. Here and there the band seem to be bringing some variation. A song like “Fly Bird, Fly High” is one that just speaks a little more to us than “Electric Eel” even though they have released that one as a single.
You can hear that the band gained inspiration from the past, which does not help in finding their own face, but perhaps it is something that helps them in the way that people could identify with it.
Maybe in Sweden this is different, something that doesn’t come up around every corner of the street, but for me this album is not sticking out enough. I don’t think I will remember their songs after a week and that is a pity. I hope the band finds their unique parts and a way how to highlight their own identity a bit more if it comes to another album.
