Cross X – What We Can Get

[schema type=”review” name=”Cross X – What We Can Get” author=”Sabine van Gameren” pubdate=”2018-02-09″ ]Cross X is a German hardcore band which has been around for about twenty years. The band is currently releasing “What We Can Get” which is Cross X’s fifth album.

Good, this band shows some attitude right from the start. Upfront, no bullshit but straight to their core, showing us what they are about. Vehemence is not left out and that helps in feeling the vibe.
The album the guys give us various. Some songs are mainly brutal but here and there it comes with a melodic twist and above all, they have some catchiness. The songs stick in mind easily and you’ll be shouting these lyrics along before you know it.

“Take It Back” is a song that does it’s name justice and therefore creates a bit of a break in the tracklist but the band picks it back up after “Darkest Hour”. Towards the end you get to deak with “12 Steps To Nothing” which is a rather agressive one. The album is only eighteen minutes long and with eight tracks that means the band got away with it a bit easy perhaps. Maybe we hoped for a bit more to complete the story.

So a rather short release bt the band puts themselves out there quite well. They have a strong idea of their own face and that suits them. A well done release for these guys!
