Rise & Fall – Our Circle Is Vicous

Releasedate: 27-10-2009; Label: Deathwish / Indigo
By: Nina Mende

Rise And Fall sharpened their teeth with their debut album, “Hellmouth” in 2004 (SA Mob/JTTP). “Hellmouth” showed a raw ferocity that few bands hold. Capturing the attention of many, Rise And Fall soon after found themselves on tour with Converge, The Great Deceiver, and others in Europe. After that landmark tour, Rise And Fall shed members only to evolve into a revamped, recharged musical monster. In the last few years, Rise And Fall have been tirelessly touring the world over. Sharing stages worldwide with Converge, Integrity, Coliseum, THe Hope Conspiracy, Ceremony, Have Heart, Shipwreck a.d., and many more of hardcore’s elite artists. Even performing at most major hardcore and metal festivals worldwide.

When listening to the album the music comes blasting straight at you. No mercy. Aggressive, harsh and cold do the riffs kick in. Fast beats and even faster riffs on some songs. The vocals are shouted throughout the entire album. Some songs actually have a melody but the screaming kills every emotion that could come up with the pure music. All you can feel is anger, hate and – as said before – pure aggressions. The music is loud and edgy, cutting through everything. “Knowing” is the only slower song on the album with a nice intro, but the vocals here are shouted as well. A hard album to kick ass to.
